Claudio Constantini is a multitalented artist who has mastered the ability to play both the piano and bandoneón.
Constantini's recital at the Arabic Music Institute is part of the monthly concerts offered to Cairo audiences by the International Music Centre.
The evening will include compositions for piano by Debussy (Images Book 1) and Brahm's Three Intermezzos. For bandoneón, the musician will play Bach's concerto for solo keyboard No.3 in D minor (after A.Marcello) and Satie's Three Gnossienes
Born in Lima, Perú into a family of musicians, Constantini graduated with honours at the National Conservatory of Music in Lima and pursued the auto-didactical studies of bandoneón before perfecting his skills in the Rotterdam Conservatory in the Netherlands.
Having performed on numerous stages across the globe, Constantini won top prizes at several international competitions such as the first prize in the Astor Piazzolla competition in Milan and the first prize in the Litmann international competition in New York, among other awards and recognitions.
The concert is held by the International Music Centre, a dynamic music institution founded in 2002. For many years the centre's activities were held at the historic Manasterly Palace, which is currently under restoration.
