Egyptian bands Cairokee, Sharmoofers, Black Theama, as well as Osama El-Hady and his band are scheduled to perform in Mansoura on Friday, 24 July in one of the rare events that brings popular musicians from Cairo and Alexandria to audiences in other cities.

The concert is being organised by Egyevent and is scheduled to take place at the stadium of Geziret El Ward Sporting Club (GWSC).

Speaking to Mohamed El-Desouki from Egyevent, he says that this is the second time the company has rented GWSC’s stadium for the purpose of holding a music concert.

“The first event was held in October 2014—and hosted Cairokee and singer Mohamed Mohsen. About 3200 attended the concert and it was a successful event," said Desouki.

The aim, Desouki adds, is to battle the ongoing centralization of culture in Cairo.

"Instead of people from Egypt's governorates having to go to Cairo to attend a cultural event, we are bringing the music here.”

Programme:
Friday, 24 July at 5pm
Geziret El Ward Sporting Club, Mansoura, Egypt
