Directed by William Kentridge, Berg's opera Lulu will feature soprano Marlis Petersen, mezzo-soprano Susan Graham, tenor Daniel Brenna and baritone Johan Reuter.

The screening, which will take place on Saturday 21 November, is part of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Arts Centre's season of Metropolitan Opera live transmissions launched in October.

This year marks the 10th season of the international high definition transmissions from New York are practiced worldwide. In October 2010, Egypt introduced the transmissions of Met Opera at the Red Sea resort of Gouna and the Cairo Opera House in Cairo.

Tickets for the screenings at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina cost LE75.
