Egyptian jazz musician Yehya Khalil will perform at the Cairo Opera House in a concert titled Dreaming in A Strange World on 24 March.
The concert also features singer Shari Blauer, and a band with singers Wael El-Fashny, Mohamed Mostafa, and Mohamed Aly, who also play percussion, nay, and violin, respectively.
The band is also comprised of percussionists Atef Abdel Rahman and Waleed El-Asmar, pianist and keyboardist Aly Sharaf, accordionist Mohsen Allam, bassist Mina Sabry Kamel and guitarist Sherif Alaa.
One of the most established jazz musicians in Egypt, Yehya Khalil presents a fusion of percussion arrangements with an oriental twist and classical jazz in concerts across Egypt and the globe.
Khalil pioneered the jazz movement in Egypt, and has been creating game-changing music for the past four decades. Playing with a band of talented musicians, Khalil continues to re-define jazz, blending world trends with local music.
