Between 25 March and 1 April, the Swiss Yves Theiler Jazz Trio will give several workshops followed by performances in Cairo and Alexandria. Their Egypt tour is dubbed Dance in a Triangle.
The trio's lineup includes pianist Yves Theiler who is also the band's founder and leader, bassist Luca Sisera and Lukas Mantel on drums.
According to the trio's published biographical notes, in their performances, the three musicians allow complex vibrating rhythms to come to life through the distinguished sound of ecstatic improvisations.
"Always daring and always surprising, Yves Theiler succeeds through his music to mesmerise, by bringing the flashes of unconventional and unique style, that make you sail away like a breeze of light air through winds of complex and intricate rhythmical ideas that melt elegantly into a divine musicality, that for sure will grasp your attention."
The trio has been touring a lot, recently focusing mainly on Switzerland and Germany. This is their first visit to Egypt
