Egyptian pianist Wael Farouk will perform with the Cairo Symphony Orchestra on Saturday 14 May followed by a solo recital on Monday 16 May.
The first concert is dubbed 'Dvořák Festival III' as it comes in a series of presenting the Czech composer's works. The Cairo Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by Hisham Gabr and will include Dvorak's Symphony No. 7 in D minor op. 70.
The same concert will also feature Aziz El Shawan's Intermezzo from 'Anas Al-Wegoud' and Rachmaninoff's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No 1 in F sharp minor op. 1, with piano soloist Wael Farouk.
On Monday 16 May, Wael Farouk will give a solo recital, which will also include works by Rachmaninov: Variations on Chopin's Prelude Op.28 No 20, in C Minor; Rachmaninoff-Richardson's Vocalise Op. 32, No. 14; Bach-Rachmaninoff's Gavotte (From E Major Partita for Violin); Kreisler-Rachmaninoff's Liebeslied (Love’s Sorrow) and Leibesfreud (Love’s Joy), among works by other composers.
