Last week, the Cairo Opera House announced the launch of a mobile application that aims to provide basic info about the institution and its schedule in Arabic, English and French.

The application can be downloaded from the Apple Store and Google Play.

The application contains info from the Cairo Opera House's website, with information about the Opera's history, mission, management, background about its companies and venues, a photo gallery, among other information.

The application also includes a schedule on the main headlines of events. The schedule can be filtered by selecting the date, venue or performance genre.

According to the info released with the application, the service will also provide notifications about favourite shows.

Launched in March 2016 but officially announced by the Cairo Opera House on 11 May, the application has already been downloaded over 100 times and is currently rated 5.0 – the highest score – by 11 users.

Some users have left their comments suggesting the implementation of online ticketing as a next step.
