The Saleeb Sufi Project is scheduled to hold a concert at the open-air El-Genaina Theatre in Al-Azhar Park on 28 July.

The project was founded by Saleeb Fawzy to offer a new mix of Coptic music and Sufi tunes and chants.

Born in Minya, Fawzy is a singer, actor and voice trainer.

He has joined many bands and troupes to sing and act, including Warsha band, Habayebna band, Resala band and Koral Al-Saeed (Chorus of the South). Most recently, Fawzy joined the Nile Project.

Founded in 2013, the Nile Project started as a collective that has since grown to include 34 artists from 11 countries that share the River Nile. The project aims to bring these musicians together to develop their sound through workshops and musical tours.

Fawzy has also participated in many festivals locally and internationally with shows in Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, France, Spain, Germany and Holland.

Programme:

Thursday, 28 July, 8.30pm
