Liszt celebration at Manasterly Palace

On Sunday, 13 November, Manasterly Palace will open its new season with Franz Liszt Bicentennial celebration

The Manasterly Palace season will open with a recital by a young, talented Egyptian pianist Mohamed Shams. The evening celebrates the Franz Liszt bicentennial.

Since 2002, the International Music Centre, with help from the Culture Development Fund, have been attracting the audience to listen to remarkable musicians hand-picked by Ramzi Yassa, renowned Egyptian pianist and artistic director at the Music Centre.

For a number of years, concerts held under the umbrella of the music centre were housed at Manial Palace on Rhoda Island. Due to the restauration, concerts were moved to Manasterly Palace in Manial.

They state enthusiastically: "Attending a concert in the Prince Mohamed Ali Palace Golden Hall in Manial is an extraordinary experience. Here, historical and architectural magnificence combines with a multiplicity of cultures to transport the audience into a neutral musical space."

Mohamed Shams, is a young and ambitious Egyptian pianist; he has demonstrated his skills in numerous concerts in Egypt and abroad while his repertoire includes many challenging works for piano.
