The concert will include G. Abdel-Rahim's 'Little Suite for Strings', R. Daoud's 'Passacaglia for Oud, Organ and Strings', M. S. Basha's 'Entizar' and A. Sharara's 'Egyptian Concerto for Oud'.
El-Sakia String Orchestra will be conducted by Mohamed Saad Basha, joined by oud soloist Alaa Saber.
El-Sakia String Orchestra was formed in October 2010 with the aim of performing classical music at a location that mainly offers pop and rock concerts so young people could have easy access to classical music.
The orchestra sheds light on Western Baroque compositions as well as other works suitable for the formation. It is the first time the orchestra to present a programme including Egyptian composers and as such it takes an important step towards presenting the country's composers to the wider audience.
Tuesday 15 November at 8pm.
El-Sawy Culturewheel, Wisdom Hall.
