Egyptian pop superstar Amr Diab is gearing up for his concert at Al-Manara Centre in New Cairo on Friday 28 February amid celebrations of his 2020 album launch.
"I always look at my current project as the most important. I came from Port Said to Cairo [in my twenties] to produce albums not singles," Diab told an Egyptian TV programme.
Produced by Nay, 'Sahran', which includes 16 promo songs released on Diab’s website, is dominating talk on social media even before the official release on music stores, as it currently available exclusively on-demand at a telecom company sponsoring it since Wednesday.
Amr Diab has proven an exceptional success, topping the Arab charts for almost four decades, collaborating with and promoting many of the bestselling lyricists, composers and producers of the pop scene.
Diab has collaborated with various arrangers like Tarek Madkour, Nader Hamdy, Osama El-Hindy and Ramy Samir, and worked with renowned composers like Amr Mostafa and Aziz El-Shafei.
The internationally acclaimed singer's last concert was in Kuwait on 13 February, one week after another in Jeddah, and he is expecting to tour with his new album.
Programme:
Friday 28 February at 8pm
Al-Manara Center, New Cairo
