Maasar Egbari will give a live concert on 5 June on WE Telecom's YouTube channel as part of the ongoing WE Online Music Festival (3 May - 3 July).
Founded in 2005 and coming to prominence a few years later, Massar Egbari is at present one of the leading independent bands in Egypt, with the line-up of the well-known musicians: Hani El-Dakkak (guitar and lead vocal), Ahmed Hafez (bass guitar) Tamer Attallah (drums), Ayman Massoud (keyboards), and Mahmoud Siam (guitar).
The band has remained active during the general shutdown of the cultural activities. It was the first Egyptian independent band to live-stream a concert on 24 March.
In early April, Massar Egbari released a new song Raghm El-Masafa (“Despite the Distance”) on the band's official Facebook page. The song was recorded with each band member performing in a separate studio, sending a message encouraging social distancing.
With their upcoming live-streamed concert, Massar Egbari joins the WE Online Music Festival, an event which continues until 3 July featuring the best known musicians in live performances.
