On 1 August, the Royal Abdeen Palace will become a platform for a concert featuring the well-known singer Ahmed Adaweyah and his son Mohamed Adaweya
The 90-minute event, dubbed Layaly El Qasr (Nights of the Palace), will take place at 'King Farouk's Music kiosk', with a limited number of audience, in parallel to it's screening online.
Organised by the Venyou Productions and Katameya Ladies Events, the event is part of a bigger musical project involving numerous cultural players, details of which will be officially released on 1 August during the concert.
The limited number of seating for the live event is reserved to the winners of a competition organised in cooperation with NRJ Egypt - 92.1 FM Radio Station. The competition relies on the listeners invited to answer the questions related to the history of the Palace and cultural activities which marked it in the past decades.
Located in the Old Cairo district of Abdeen, the Royal Abdeen Palace was built during the reign of Khedive Ismail in the 19th century with the aim of serving as governmental headquarters as well as a living space for the royal family.
The palace today is a museum.
