Rashad Fahim Trio

Renowned Egyptian pianist Rashad Fahim and his trio will be performing a jazz night at Room Art Space on Thursday 5 November.

Founded in 2005, Fahim's trio, which includes Andrew Safouat on bass and Amir Attalla on drums, will perform some jazz standards and original tunes in a variety of styles including swing, Latin and funk jazz.

Featuring in the most prestigious venues in Egypt such as the Cairo and Alexandria Opera Houses, occasionally as a guest pianist with the Riff Band, Fahim has performed with many jazz artists like Malik Yacoub, John Dikeman, Salah Ragab, and Abdullah Ibrahim.

Having studied with Jeff Covell and Ray Santisi in 1998 at Berkley College of Music in Boston, from which he graduated, Fahim inspired dozens of musicians throughout various workshops.

Egypt resumed public cultural activities in July as part of the country's cautious reopening following the COVID-19 lockdown, with all events held under strict measures that include social distancing, obligatory facemasks, and sanitising.

Programme:
Thursday, 5 November at 9:30pm
Room Art Space, Garden City
