Art Alert: Pink Floyd tribute with Andromeda band at Cairo's El-Sawy Culturewheel

Andromeda's concert will include guest musician Mahmoud Elhamy on saxophone


The Egyptian band Andromena, which specialises in playing covers of the well-known British rock band Pink Floyd, will give a concert on Friday 12 February at El-Sawy Culturewheel (El-Sakia) in Zamalek.

Titled Eclipse, in reference to Pink Floyd's song from the Dark Side of the Moon (1973) album, the concert will present numerous well-known hits including Shine On you Crazy Diamond, Welcome to The Machine, What Do You want From Me, It's A Miracle, Sorrow, Hey You, and many others.

The evening will feature guest musician Mahmoud Elhamy on tenor saxophone.

Founded in 1987 by Amr Hassan and Ihab Al-Qalie, Andromeda is one of the oldest Egyptian progressive rock bands.
