Many Arab music celebrities and entities have mourned the loss of veteran Egyptian composer Shaker El-Mougy who passed away on Saturday after a long struggle with illness.

“Shaker El-Mougy has left an outstanding legacy through his works with the biggest stars ,including Mayada El-Hennawy, George Wassouf, Carole Samaha, and Walid Toufic,” the Egyptian musicians syndicate stated on Tuesday, offering its conciliation to the musician’s fans and family.

El-Mougy’s contribution to Arab pop classics includes a long list in cooperation with various Arab singers.

However, his most remarkable works are made during a long journey of joint work with Lebanese star singer George Wassouf since the early 80s. El-Mougy composed many popular hits with Wassouf, including ‘Elliy Ta’abna Senien Fi Hawah’, ‘Sayad Al-Toyour’, ‘Tabib Garrah’, ‘Law Naweet Tensa Elly Fat’, among others.

He was inspired by his uncle Mohamed El-Mougy, the late iconic musician.
