Acclaimed Egyptian singer Mai Farouk released on Monday a new original song titled Elqadia Flestinya (The Cause is Palestinian), in solidarity with the Palestinians who are currently suffering aggression at the hands of Israeli occupation forces.

"Oh our Quds (Jerusalem), Oh our dignity, Oh the holiness of all holy hopes. For your redemption we sacrifice a life, a million lives. We give you a life from our blood," goes the chorus, which is sung in the Egyptian dialect.

Prominent Egyptian pop composer and singer Amr Mostafa, who has created dozens of love and patriotic hits over the past two decades, is the producer of Elqadia Flestinya, publishing it on his YouTube channel.

"This is my way of supporting the Palestinian cause. If each one of us only does what they can, we would be able to change something," said Mostafa, who is expected to produced more singles soon.

With lyrics written by Hisham Galal and music arrangements produced by Wagdy El-Fiwy and mix of Loay Ismail, Mostafa composed the catchy-hook C-minor tune, featuring oud accompaniment by skilful soloist Eslam Elabaty.

Egypt's syndicates of musicians, actors and journalists have separately issued statements voicing solidarity with fellow Arabs of Palestine and strongly condemning Israeli hostility.
