Sheikh Zain Mahmoud and his troupe will hold a concert on Thursday 29 July at Darb 1718.
Focusing on a repertoire from Egyptian heritage, the evening will feature religious chants and songs from Egyptian folklore set at the background of Old Cairo's centre of Muslim and Christian religions.
Sheikh Zain Mahmoud established his troupe in 2002 with the aim to preserve authentic Egyptian heritage.
The troupe presents a variety of religious and musical components drawn from the country's traditional arts, spanning between folklore, Egyptian monologues, muwashahat, among others.
Programme:
Thursday, 29 July, at 7pm
Darb 1718, Kasr Al-Shamaa Street, Al-Fakhareen, Old Cairo, Cairo (nearest metro station: Mar Girgis)
