Egyptian band Bahgaga has launched Bahgaga Mic, a comedy-singing workshop for new female performers that is accepting submissions through 23 August.

Under the slogan "Who likes to sing with us, next concert?" the project aims to present new female performers from across all of Egypt’s governorates.

Bahgaga Mic will provide the opportunity for 20 first-time singers to present themselves in Bahgaga’s style. Candidates will be selected through an audition video and an application form. There are no age restrictions, and experience is not required.

Bahgaga's press release reveals that "the two-month duration comedy-singing workshop gives participants the opportunity to learn the basics of solo and choir singing, training the voice, and to know the forms of comedy singing, in addition to live performance skills and rehearsing a song to sing with Bahgaga. The output of the workshop will be presented with the participation with Bahgaga Band in a closing concert named Bahgag Mic, to be given in early November.”

According to the band's founder and artistic director Ayman Helmy, the project has already received more than 90 applications while the door for submissions remains open until 23 August.
