The new ‘She Arts Festival’, which will be focusing on female creators, will be kicking off on 9 September with over 10 concerts and many other activities that will take place at the Tahrir Cultural Centre.

Spanning over three days (9-11 September), the festival will showcase a large assortment of women talents, featuring names from Egypt as well as Portugal, France, Switzerland, and Palestine.

The first day, 9 September, will feature performances from the Egyptian Harp Ensemble, Egyptian singers Heba Soliman and Maryam Saleh, the AUC Alumni Folklore Group — who will be dancing — and Portuguese singer and songwriter Susana Travassos.

Friday 10 September will include a discussion led by Amie Sultan about the history of dance; followed by musical performances from French hip-hop artist Angélique Richemont, Palestinian singer Banah, and Egyptian all-female electronic band NABD along with singer Nesma Mahgoub.

The final day, 11 September, will include a dance performance by Swiss La Ronde Quatuor’s and music performances by the Egyptian Fabrica Women Talents and Nouran Abu Taleb. The day will also feature renowned Egyptian filmmaker Mariam Naoum in a discussion about women behind the camera.
