El-Bahrawy’s debut concert was held during the ongoing Zamalek Music Festival, which is hosting 17 pop, indie, rock, tarab, rap and Shaabi performers.
El-Bahrawy and his band played his famous hits like 'Geet Aal-Bayez', 'Mahaddesh Lih Kheir Alina', 'Ehna Fein', 'Abtal El-Alam', 'Rah', and his latest 'Akhret El-Sohobeya'.
Young producer Elwaili opened the festival on Thursday, featuring a number of singers including Shaabi star Mahmoud El-Hosseiny, who is most known for 'El-Abd Wel-Shitan' and 'Sigara Bonny'.
After decades of singing only in night clubs and wedding parties, Shaabi singers have notably been making more appearances on TV programmes and music concert halls and theaters.
Two weeks ago, Shaabi superstar Abdel-Baset Hamouda had his first gig at El-Sawy Culturewheel, the famous Zamalek venue that has boosted dozens of indie and underground bands since it was established in 2005.
At Zamalek Music Festival today, the bands Mazeek, Meshwar and High Dam are performing, two days before Wust El-Balad, Gawy, Luka Welbatteekh and Hawas take the stage on Thursday.
