The oud exhibition, which is part of the Riyadh Season — an entertainment festival being held in the Kingdom’s capital that has been ongoing since October 2021 and will conclude by the end of this month — will be held in the Music section at Riyadh Boulevard.

Oud, which resembles the lute, is the Arab world’s most popular stringed instrument.

The most notable schools of oud can be found in Egypt, Iraq, Syria, and Turkey.

According to the organisers, the event will include a contest under the title ‘King of Oud’, with contenders from various Middle Eastern countries.

Over the past several years, the Kingdom made numerous efforts to boost cultural activities in the country.

Earlier this year, Saudi Arabia announced the establishment of the Bait Al-Oud Arabic Music Institute, which aims to promote the region’s talents and develop a new generation of musicians.
