Egyptian musicians joined a rich line-up of the musicians from North Africa, Middle East and Gulf for a concert to celebrate 15 years of the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture's (AFAC) anniversary event.

The concert took place Saturday at Beirut's historical Hippodrome.

Egypt was represented by the well known rapper Wegz alongside the duo El Waili and Donia Wael presenting a new vision of Mahraganat music.

Dubbed Midane, the event's line-up also included a Tunisian rapper KTYB, a Sudanese Saudi-raised artist Dafencii (joined by Al Nather) who fuses poetry with catchy trap beats, and a Lebanese musician El Rass.

It's worth noting that for Dafencii this was his first live performance. The artist released a short video documenting the experience on his Twitter account.

The concert reflected the the diverse music of Arab youth today and, as the organisers put it, "the finest renditions of a generation that has bet everything on the dawn of a new era."

The concert celebrated the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture's 15th anniversary, stressing the platform's one-and-a-half decade of "supporting individual artists, writers, researchers, intellectuals, as well as organizations from the Arab region working in the field of arts and culture," reads the AFAC's description.

"Since its launch in 2007, "AFAC programmes have steadily expanded to cover cinema, photography, visual and performing arts, creative and critical writings, music, documentary film, in addition to funding research, training and cultural events."
