Wegz’s rap attracts thousands in Alamein concert

Thousands of fans of Egyptian rapper Wegz have gathered on Friday at New Alamein Arena to listen and sing along to his hits.



Dubbed the most listened-to rapper in recent years in Egypt by multiple streaming platforms, Wegz appeared in red and black sportive outfit introducing some chirography with his songs.

The 24-year-old Alexandrian artist performed most of his biggest hits like Dorak Gai, Asyad Elsoot, Msh Fair, 21, El-Ghasala, Bazeet, Keify Keda, El-Bakht and other hits.

The concert has also featured Wegz’s collaborator; Moroccan rapper ElGrandeToto who is most known for Love Nwantiti North African Remix, Gueule Tapee and Salade Coco.

Followed by almost two million fans on each platform, the 1998-born Alexandrian gained popularity with his rapping in arrangements that mix Western hip-hop with Egyptian Mahraganat sounds, hitting many times with releases and collaborations.

The concert is held as part of the El-Alamein Festival, which recently hosted concerts by Amr Diab, Tamer Hosny, Amal Maher, Sharmoofers and others, with other stars expected in the upcoming weeks.
