COP27 theme music composer Hisham Kharma gears for two concerts in Egypt

Composer and music producer Hisham Kharma, who created the theme music for the opening of the COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, will perform two concerts in Cairo and Alexandria in January.

The Cairo concert will take place on 5 January at the Gomhoreya Theatre followed in Alexandria at the Opera House on the 8th.

The upcoming concerts will include many of Kharma's previous compositions for films and TV series.

Prior to composing for the COP27, Kharma composed and produced themes for the Egyptian Youth Forum in 2018, the first edition of the Cairo Drama Festival and the World Fencing Championship official.

Born and raised in Cairo, Kharma has lived and worked in Miami, Hamburg and Dubai.

A computer science graduate, he kickstarted his music career as a creative director in the advertising industry, winning a number of regional and global awards. 

He began performing live music concerts in 2016.

Accompanied by a grand orchestra, Kharma performed in major events in notable locations such as at the feet of Egypt's Pyramids, Cairo Citadel, and London Mansion House.

Kharma released multiple top charting albums and singles.

He released his first album First Voyage with Virgin Megastore and Hybrid records and his second official album The Arabesque -  a joint project with the Grammy-award winner Yanni and Can Atilla - with Sony Music.

His scores for TV series include El-Nehaya (The End, 2019) and Suits (The Arabic adaptation of the US TV series) (2021).

His scores in film include Mako (2021).
