Published on his 2.5-milion-subscriber YouTube channel, three songs from the album – Baad El Kalam, Rahan Adeem and Shei Ghayrak – have topped the trending music releases in Egypt, with only Ahmed Saad surpassing him to take the first place with Ader Akamel.
Kamel’s new album is also among the top spots on the Egyptian charts on Anghami, Spotify, and other streaming platforms.
The album’s success comes in a week full of superstar singles, like Georges Wassouf’s ode to his recently-deceased son Noss Omry, Angham’s Valentine’s Day release Khaleny Shwaya Maak and Ramy Gamal’s new single Amla Eh, among other releases from top rap and mahraganat singers.
Born on 10 September 1992 in Cairo, Ahmed Kamal graduated from the Faculty of Law at Cairo University before he launched his musical career with a couple of rap songs.
Ebn El Laiel (Son of the Night), as his fans like to call him, initially released the singles Ya Laiel, Cancer, and Kan Fe Tafel, before quickly establishing his fame with songs like Ala Einy, Meen F Doll, La’btek and Ouly.
This weekend, Kamel’s album poster was featured on a Spotify billboard in New York City’s Time Square.
