Khairat has just concluded two concerts at the Cairo Opera House (20 and 21 February) and is now preparing to perform at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina on 3 and 4 March 2023.

Addressing 3.5 million followers on his Facebook page, Khairat asks the listeners to name his compositions that were featured in Fawazeer Ramadan starring dancer Nadine.

"Name the compositions used in three songs, and win two tickets to my concert," Khairat said in the announcement, pointing to three Fawazeer episodes broadcast in the mid-2010s: Al Helw Ma Yekamelsh, Giran Alhana, Ma Nestaghnash.

The Fawazeer (Arabic for “riddles”) is an Egyptian television show broadcast during the month of Ramadan. The iconic dancers that presented the Fawazeer in the past were Sherihan and the Armenian-Egyptian Nelly, who starred in the show in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and again for five years starting 1990. Later attempts to revive the Fawazeer included actress Sherine Reda and Oriental dancer Nadine, among others. However, none of them proved as successful as Sherihan or Nelly.

One of the top musicians of the Arab world, Khairat has hundreds of compositions in his repertoire.

He has written scores for numerous films and television series, including The Sixth Day (1984), The Terrorist (1993), Mafia (2002), Girl’s Love (2003), The Embassy is in the Building (2005), and Deer’s Blood (2006).

In his concerts, Khairat usually features the best-known compositions, all works that are beloved by generations of his followers.
