Massar Egbari, one of Egypt's best-known independent bands, released a new single titled "Kelma" on Sunday.

The track serves as the theme song for the 2023 Ramadan TV series  Al-Harsha Al-Sabaa, which explores the social realities of married couples.

Written by the band's lead vocalist and guitarist, Hani El-Dakkak, "Kelma" is a sentimental duet featuring guest vocalist Bustan Magdy. The song's lyrics, penned by Amaar Mostafa, reflect the themes of the TV series, asking the question if love ends after marriage. The title "Kelma" translates to "Word" and the lyrics explore the power of words to bring people together or tear them apart.

This release comes just a few months after Massar Egbari's highly successful "Ba2et Gharib" (I Became Strange), which has garnered over 1.4 million views on the band's YouTube channel since November 2022.

Founded in 2005, Massar Egbari has gained a large following in Egypt and beyond, with a lineup featuring Hani El-Dakkak on guitar and lead vocals, Ahmed Hafez on bass guitar, Tamer Attallah on drums, Ayman Massoud on keyboards, and Mahmoud Siam on guitar. The band regularly sells out concerts in Egypt and has also performed in the region and internationally. Their upcoming concert in Egypt is scheduled for April 6th at Arkan Plaza, Sheikh Zayed city, on the outskirts of Cairo.

"Al-Harsha Al-Sabaa" is directed by Karim El-Shennawy and was written by Maryam Naoum. The series stars Amina Khalil, Mohamed Shaheen, Ali Qassem, and Asmaa Galal.
