Omar Khairat to perform at Giza Pyramids for first time in six years

Renowned Egyptian composer and pianist Omar Khairat will perform on Saturday at the Sound and Light Theatre located at the Pyramids plateau for the first time in six years.

The event has already sold more than 2,500 tickets.

The performance is anticipated to be one of Khairat’s most important appearances as the stage is one of the biggest to host him in recent years.

He has appeared at numerous other prestigous locations across the country. Last month, Khairat performed at the Grand Egyptian Museum. Before that, he appeared in sold-out shows at the Cairo Opera House and Alexandria Opera House, among others.

Accompanied by the grand orchestra conducted by Nayer Nagui, the Pyramids concert will feature numerous compositions, widely beloved by the audiences. The evening will include Executing the Dead, Dameer Abla Hekmat, Arfa, Al-Liqaa Al-Thani, Ghawayesh, 100 Years of Cinema, Al-Khawaga Abdel Kader,  Fiha Haga Helwa, among many others.

The composer's last concert at the Pyramids plateau was in 2017 and before that in 2011 he was honoured in the Golden Fingers Concert. 

One of the top musicians of the Arab world, Khairat has an extensive musical repertoire that includes a variety of scores for numerous films and television series, including The Sixth Day (1984), The Terrorist (1993), Mafia (2002), Girl’s Love (2003), The Embassy is in the Building (2005), and Deer’s Blood (2006).
