Saleh, alongside Chairman of the Cairo Opera House Khaled Dagher, made the announcement at a press conference on Monday for tens of reporters and critics.

Under the title of “El-Asateza” (The Masters), Saleh will team up with a number of arrangers like Ahmed Mostafa, Ahmed El-Mougy and Osama Kamal to reintroduce some of Arab music’s evergreen compositions.

The concerts, which are being backed by the leading production company United Group and AlHayat TV channel, will produce new orchestral visions for a selection of compositions from iconic musicians like Mohamed Abdel-Wahab, Farid El-Atrash, Kamale El-Taweel, Riad Al Sunbati, Mohamed Fawzy and others.

During the press conference, Saleh extended an invitation to other singers to join him for the first concert of the series, which is scheduled for Friday 7 July at the Cairo Opera House’s main hall.

Saleh, 62, has a big collection of famous songs, like Kawkab Tany (Another Planet), Wala Teswa Domoe (Not Worth the Tears), and El-Donia Alemetny (Life Taught Me), as well as dozens of film scores like Mafia, El-Beliatsho (The Clown) and Amir El-Zalam (Prince of Darkness), to name but a few.

He has released numerous albums and starred in several films, TV series and plays.
