A sample from Ya Leil was featured in a recent ad from Vodafone, in which both father and son discuss its composition process. Their collaborative effort eventually produced the almost seven-minute-long Ya Leil.
The song is the latest musical creation of Amr Diab, fusing pop beats and electronic instruments, with oriental flair. The song combines Arabic and English lyrics, with Diab's son singing passages in English.
Just an hour after its release, the song began trending on Twitter.
Ya Leil is written by Amir Teima, with music by Diab and arranged by Ahmed Ibrahim.
The new track comes a few days after Say My Name topped the Anghami music charts, as yet another hit song from the Egyptian pop icon to achieve massive popularity in the Arab world.
Amid this success, Diab will perform live in concert at Marassi, on Egypt's North Coast, on 14 July.
24-year-old Abdallah Diab, a twin brother of Kenzy Diab, is one of Amr Diab's three children with his second wife Zeina Ashour. The couple also have a 22-year-old daughter named Jana. Amr Diab is also a father to 33-year-old Nour, daughter of his first wife, actress Shereen Reda.
