The festival was scheduled to take place between 24 October and 2 November featuring almost 40 concerts and 120 artists from across the Arab World.

Though the ministry’s official announcement does not specify the reasons behind the postponement, it comes amid a wave of cancellations of events by Arab countries, expressing solidarity with victims of the Israeli war against Palestinians in Gaza, of whom more than 3,500 have been killed and over 12,000 injured.

The events included performances by musicians from Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Tunisia, Palestine, Jordan, Bahrain, and Oman, among other countries.

The concerts, topped by seminars, were planned to take place across numerous venues, including opera theaters in Cairo (El-Nafoura, El-Kabir, El-Saghir, Institute of Arab Music, and El-Gomhouria), Sayed Darwish Theater (Alexandria Opera) and Damanhour Opera House.
