The Egyptian library and bookstore Al-Kotob Khan is to launch a special day, 'A Hundred Thousand Poets and Musicians for Change', celebrating poetry and music on Saturday 29 September.
The all-day event will be dedicated to best and rising poets and musicians, in addition to international artists. Karam Yusuf, director of Al-Kotob Khan says, "This event is only one part of a huge celebration that includes about 650 poetry and music events in 110 countries and cities around the world."
'A Hundred Thousand Poets and Musicians for Change', held at Kotob Khan, is only one part of a celebration that will tour Port Said and Alexandria.
Al-Kotob Khan has invited libraries, bookstores, and cultural institutions across the country to take part in what will be an international event, in order to uphold the values of freedom, justice, and equality.
The exact programme naming the participants has yet to be announced.
