Bob Marley: One Love - film

The film celebrates the life and music of an icon who inspired generations through his message of love and unity.

The film is produced in partnership with the Marley family and stars Kingsley Ben-Adir as the legendary musician and Lashana Lynch as his wife Rita.

Riki Rhino: The Bird Kingdom - film

A fun, family adventure that follows a brave rhino named Riki and his duck friend Beni as they journey through tropical jungles to find a magic seed that will help save their home from a foreseen tsunami.

The film stars Kiff Vanden Heuvel, Rama Vallury, Kevin Makely, and Zehra Fazal.

Sarah Morgan - music

The solo singer Sarah Morgan was interested in music, and jazz in particular, from a very young age. She is using her voice to express her emotions and connect with others. The evening will include numerous covers of known compositions.

Folklorita - music

Bayt Al-Suhaymi, Al-Moezz Street, Old Cairo

The newly founded group Folklorita presents covers of songs from the Egyptian heritage. The group relies mainly on percussive instruments, tabla, doholla, and daff in addition to other musicians. Their first concert was in Mansoura last week, and their appearance in Bayt El-Suhaymi is their first concert in Cairo.

Hazem Shaheen - music

Thursday 22 February, 8 pm
Arabic Music Institute, Ramsis Str., Downtown Cairo

Hazem Shaheen will give a solo performance playing on the oud. The evening will include his arrangements of the known works and some originals, instruments from his compositions, and selections from the compositions of senior masters of the oud instrument.

Talents Development Centre - music

Alexandria Opera House (Sayed Darwish Theatre), Alexandria

Being one of the last formations to celebrate Valentine's Day, the evening will feature several classes of the Talents Development Centre, including oud players, singers, and ballet dancers.

The Talents Development Centre is an educational body operating under the Cairo and Alexandria Opera Houses.

Tranquil Note - music

Friday 23 February, 8 pm
Heliopolis Library, 42 Al-Orouba Street, Salah Salem, Cairo

Tranquil Note will perform the known standards from Western classical and light music in addition to some oriental compositions. The band’s line-up also includes Kareem Wasef and Amr Seif (contrabass), Nour El-Din Mohammed and Tamer El-Ibrashi (cello), Emad Atef (flute), Mostafa Saeed (saxophone and clarinet), Nasr Marei (drums), Walid Galal (percussion), and Mahmoud Asfour (kanoun).

The Tranquil Note’s upcoming concert will feature singer Reem Ezzeldin, who will present three songs.

50 Years of Cinematic Portraits: Mohamed Bakr - exhibition

Photopia, 22 Cleopatra Str., Heliopolis, Cairo

The exhibition is organized within the proceedings of Cairo Design Week with Photopia celebrating five decades of the most prominent cinematic works and paying tribute to the renowned photographer Mohamed Bakr.

Amr Darwish - music

Alexandria Opera House (Sayed Darwish Theatre), Alexandria

The concert will present a selection of classical and soft music played by violinist Amr Darwish. The evening will also feature composer and singer Mustafa Hilal, keyboard player Ahmed Khater, and singer Dalia Salam.
