The Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth in Egypt is organized by the Poland embassy in Cairo and the European Foundation for Education and Culture Zielona Góra, Poland.

The Egyptian Youth Music Association (founded in 1985) started the competition in 2010, in collaboration with the Polish embassy, and the Cairo Opera House that hosted a concert by the winners.

Over the years, the initiative has witnessed many modifications. Its most recent editions saw collaboration between the embassy, the European Foundation for Education through its Rahn Education Schulen (headquartered in Leipzig with branches worldwide), and the Cairo Opera House.

Since the establishment of the competition, winners have been awarded a concert at the Cairo Opera House and a trip to Poland, which is an attempt to follow in Frederic Chopin’s footsteps.

The 2023 edition also included a concert by the winners  Ali Abdel-Razik, Shahd Magdy, and Mahmoud El-Batran  at the Lubuska Land Museum in Zielona Góra, Poland, the first such experience for the competition participants outside their home country.
