Cairo Symphony Orchestra opens new season

On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 September the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, headed by its new Czech conductor, opens the season in Cairo and Alexandria

On Saturday 15 September, the Cairo Symphony Orchestra will open the new music season with a concert in Cairo. The same programme will be performed a day later, Sunday 16 September in Alexandria.

The orchestra will be conducted by Jiri Petrdlik from the Czech Republic, newly-appointed principal conductor and artistic director of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra.

The concert will include Pulcinella Suite by Igor Stravinsky, followed by Haydn's Trumpet Concerto in E flat Major and Schumann's Symphony no. 1 in B flat Major Spring.

The soloist of the evening will be Jaroslav Halir.
