The third edition of the Dawar Arts Festival is themed "Storytelling."
The festival includes music and performing arts, workshops and exhibitions.

Correspondence - film

Correspondence (Italy, 2016) is an English-language Italian romantic film that focuses on the relationship between an astronomer and his lover, who spend their years apart.
The film is written and directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, and stars Jeremy Irons, Olga Kurylenko, and Simon Johns.
The film’s score is composed by Ennio Morricone.
The film’s screening is part of the Cairo Cinema Culture Palace’s free-of-charge screening throughout June. Read more here

Ali El-Haggar - music

El-Sawy Culturewheel, 26th of July Street, Zamalek, Cairo
El-Haggar has been one of the best-known singers in Egypt and the Arab world over the past four decades.
He has performed lyrics drawn from the poetry of Salah Jahin, Abdel-Rahman El-Abnoudy and Sayed Hegab and collaborated with some of the country's most renowned composers such as Baligh Hamdy, Sayed Mekkawy, Omar Khairat, among others.
In his concert at the MUST Opera House, El-Haggar will be accompanied by a grand orchestra.

Memo - theatre
Thursday 27, Friday 28 June, 9pm
Grand Nile Tower, Cairo
Memo is directed by Hesham Atwa and written by Diaa Mohamed.
The play revolves around Masoud -- a marginalized member of his community -- who decides to prove himself unconventionally.
Ahmed Helmy is the eponymous hero of the play, whose cast includes stars such as Hana Al-Zahed, Ahmed Rizk, Hamdi El-Marghani, Mohamed Radwan, Rahma Ahmed, and Nour Ehab.

Giselle - ballet
Thursday 27, Friday 28, followed by 1 and 2 July, 8.30pm
Cairo Opera House, main hall, Zamalek, Cairo
The ballet by Jean Coralli and Jules Petot will be performed with additional choreography of Abdel Moniem Kamel.
This romantic ballet in two acts is considered a masterwork in the classical ballet performance canon.
The Cairo Opera Ballet Company is led by its Artistic Director, Erminia Kamel.

Mohamed Hamaki - music
Friday 28 June, 9pm
New Cairo Arena, 30 June Stadium
Hamaki is among the top Egyptian pop stars of his generation.
Born in 1975, he released his first album Khalena Neysh in 2003, followed by more than a dozen other albums, with the latest one being Ya Fatenny (2021).
Hamaki won the Best Arabia Act award from MTV Europe Music Awards and the Music Award in 2006, for Ahla Haga Fiki.
The concert is part of the Layali Misr events.

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change - theatre
Thursday 27, Friday 28, and Saturday 29 June, 8pm
Rawabet Art Space, 5 Hussein Basha Al Meamari, Downtown Cairo
The performance is an Egyptian adaptation of the musical titled I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, a comic representation of the joys and troubles of love and relationships.
The show is presented by the Fabrica talents under the musical supervision of Neveen Allouba.
The cast includes Ahmed El Sawy, Carla Assaf, Waleed Atef, Youssef Bassir, Christine Magdy, Farida Islam, and Serag Mahmoud, among others.

Amr Diab X Adam Port - music

Sol Beach, Marassi, Alamein
Egypt’s superstar returns to Sol to perform a selection of his well-known songs.
The same evening will also feature Adam Port from Germany who has become a global sensation, presenting a mix of melodic techno.

Medhat Saleh - music

Medhat Saleh is one of the leading stars of the Egyptian music scene.
Among his best-known songs are Kawkab Tany (Another Planet), Wala Teswa Domoe (Not Worth the Tears), and El-Donia Alemetny (Life Taught Me), as well as dozens of film scores like Mafia, El-Beliatsho (The Clown) and Amir El-Zalam (Prince of Darkness), to name but a few.
He has released numerous albums and starred in several films, TV series and plays.
