The organizers revealed that the festival will run for seven weeks, from 11 July to 30 August, in New Alamein, on Egypt's north coast, about 100 kilometres west of Alexandria and 180 kilometres east of Marsa Matrouh.
While the detailed programming of the second edition has not been fully disclosed, it is known that the line-up will include renowned stars and popular bands. These include Egyptian singers Amr Diab, Mohamed Mounir, Wegz, Cairokee band, and Iraqi singer Kadim Al-Sahir.
The culture ministry announced that several troupes under its auspices will present their work during the festival. These troupes, operating under the culture ministry and the cultural palaces across the country, will come from locations including Alexandria, Marsa Matrouh, Ismailia, Luxor, and Aswan.
Earlier this week, sources revealed that some promotional posters and banners for the festival feature both the Egyptian and Palestinian flags, accompanied by the phrase, "60 percent of the festival's profits have been allocated to support our people in Palestine."
Launched last year, the New Alamein Festival is the biggest entertainment festival in Egypt, offering a wide range of music, cultural, shopping, and sports activities throughout the summer season.
The first edition of the New Alamein Festival featured numerous stars, including Tamer Hosny, Mohamed Mounir, Ahmed Saad, Omar Khairat, Elissa, and Nancy Ajram, among many other well-known performers. The event also included sports activities, beach soccer tournaments, cultural activities, and shows featuring the best 10 Arab fashion designers.
