Artists for Aid, organised by Sudanese-Canadian artist Mustafa The Poet, is a humanitarian collective that aims to stage concerts across different countries to direct its proceeds to people affected by wars in Palestine and Sudan.
In January, the show took place at Newark Symphony Hall in New Jersey, featuring Omar Apollo, Clairo, and Mustafa, among others. The proceeds from that concert went to the relief organization Human Concern International.
The show's second edition held in London on 4 July included performances by Blood Orange, Mos Def, Earl Sweatshirt, King Krule, Mustafa, Clairo, Daniel Ceasar, Ramy Youssef, Nicolas Jaar, Safia Elhillo, Bint Mbareh, and FKA Twigs as the event's special guest.
According to Troxy's social media, the four-hour show has brought 3,100 audiences, with the artists playing for free, "using their art to call for peace, and helping to raise well over £230,000 to support humanitarian efforts in the process."
According to the organizers, the proceeds from the London concert will be donated towards War Child UK's response plan in Gaza and Sudan.
