El-Oud will hold two concerts in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on 18 and 19 August in evenings dubbed as "Gathering with Saad El-Oud," a theme that strongly reflects the spirit of his performances.
Shortly after his return from Saudi Arabia, El-Oud is scheduled to perform at the ongoing 32nd Citadel Festival for Music and Singing on Tuesday 27 August, followed by a concert during the 21st Bibliotheca Alexandrina Summer Festival on Friday 30 August.
Throughout the past few years, El-Oud's approach to his followers earned him a large followership on social media, and his videos have been viewed thousands of times. His Instagram account boasts 170,000 followers, while Facebook has 29,000 followers.
His TikTok account garnered 126,000 followers and 1.1 million likes
He remains one of the most active Egyptian musicians, moving across renowned venues and the small spaces hosting up-and-coming independent bands.
He has just held a concert at the newly established Gramophone Heliopolis on 6 August, and prior to that on 7 July. This was followed by a performance at Room Arts Space (New Cairo) on 13 August, a space that hosts him frequently, always to a full house of audience from Egypt and Gulf countries.
In fact, El-Oud is also a frequent performer across the Gulf. His latest concert in Saudi Arabia was on 27 July, when he took the stage of The Club in Al-Shallal Theme Park on Jeddah Cornish.
Prior to that, his three consecutive concerts, on 27, 28, and 29 June, in Riyadh were fully sold out days before the events.
El-Oud's popularity is deeply ingrained in the material he offers to the audience and the relationship he develops with the listeners during the concerts.
He plays songs representing authentic Egyptian heritage, often touching on the melancholic note of distant days, while interacting with the audience, creating a setting where the audience are not mere listeners of the performance.
By encouraging his audience to sing and comment on the compositions performed, El-Oud develops a strong link with the listeners, while presenting to them their favourite songs. His ability to break the fourth wall extends even to creating a light-spirited communication with the technical team during the performance.
In such a lively atmosphere, the concert attendees feel incorporated into the musician's realm; hence, "gathering" used as a theme of his upcoming concert in Riyadh depicts precisely the evenings with Saad El-Oud.
