Released on 8 May, the new song was written and composed by Aziz El Shafei, with arrangement, mixing, and mastering by Tom. On the single, Ahmed Hussein plays guitar and bouzouki, while Mounir Maher performs the bass guitar.
The release of the new single also prompted a resurgence of Sherine’s older hits, further underlining her enduring popularity among fans despite a period away from the spotlight.
Sherine is also set to perform her first summer concert on Egypt’s North Coast on Friday, 7 August.
Tebaa'n Tebaa'n, uninterruptedly uninterruptedly, is a classic Arabic pop ballad that blends contemporary arrangements with the emotionally driven melodic phrasing characteristic of Sherine’s musical style.
Lyrically, the song centres on obsessive, all-consuming love, with the speaker describing emotional dependence, sleeplessness, and idealization of the beloved through vivid sensory metaphors. Its circular structure and recurring refrains reinforce a sense of continuous, unresolved longing.
Sherine
Born in 1980, Sherine Abdel-Wahab, known as Sherine, shot to fame in 2002 with the release of the album Tamer & Sherine, a joint venture with Egyptian star singer Tamer Hosny.
She quickly established herself as one of the leading female voices in Egypt and the Arab world, going on to release more than a dozen successful albums alongside several TV and cinema appearances. Known for her emotive vocal style and strong presence in contemporary Arabic pop, she has remained one of the region’s most influential singers for over two decades.
In December 2022, Spotify listed Sherine Abdel-Wahab as the most-streamed Egyptian female artist globally, and the fourth most-streamed Arab female artist globally, after Lebanese stars Nancy Ajram, Fairuz, and Elissa, respectively.
In recent years, Sherine’s career has seen public, personal, and professional challenges, followed by a gradual return to the stage and recording studio.
From 2024 onwards, her earlier catalog experienced renewed viral success on streaming platforms, reaffirming her continued popularity across the Arab world.
In 2026, she re-emerged with new music releases and announced a major live comeback concert on Egypt’s North Coast, marking a significant return to large-scale performances after a hiatus.
