As part of the Beirut and Beyond International Music Festival, Egyptian singer and songwriter Maryam Saleh will be touring Scandinavian cities from 29 October to 2 November.

Saleh, commonly referred to by her fans as 'Maryam', has performed in several venues across Egypt and the Arab world over the past two years, garnering a loyal fan base through her intense vocals and unusual, edgy compositions, as well as her unique onstage performances, enriched by her acting background.

She launched her first album, Mesh Baghanny (I Don't Sing) in 2012 and became famous for her reinventions of old Egyptian songs, such as her covers of El-Sheikh Imam melodies, which she boldly blends with rock music.

Saleh has collaborated with a number of musicians from Egypt, such as Maurice Louca, as well as from other Arab countries, like Zeid Hamdan from Lebanon and Tamer Abu Ghazaleh from Palestine.

On 30 October, Maryam's concert will be part of the Oslo World Music Festival, where she will be performing with Louca, Abu Ghazaleh, Khyam Allami and a number of other artists.
