Between 8 and 11 June, the NUT Dance Company (NDC) will present two different shows at Cairo's Rawabet Theatre, including a new piece that explores the experience of frustration.
Dance pieces Contempt and Inside Out are both choreographed by Hazem Haidar and performed by dancers Anna Suykerbuyk, Bashka Jombikova, Nadine Emile, Shaymaa Shoukry, El-Kamel Ragab, Mahmoud El-Haddad, Mostafa Ebaid, and Zag.
Contempt, Haidar’s newest piece, is about four men and four women exploring and juggling frustrations, and testing their limits.
Inside Out is the third piece of NDC’s NUT Trilogy. Inspired by the Egyptian goddess of the sky and stars, Nut, the piece focuses on gender, and the feminine side of Egyptian society. It attempts to explore how Egyptian society shifted from being matriarchal to patriarchal.
