The Madad Culture Support Initiative on 21 June is to hold Aish Balady: A Ramadan Evening of Culture Initiatives, presenting small projects by artists that Madad supports.
The highlight of the night is to be Poetry in the Arms of Music, with performed poetry by Amin Haddad and Doaa Hamza, and music by Hazem Shaheen, featuring the band Eskenderella.
Aish Balady will start at 9 pm and will feature visual art exhibits, a play titled Bel Masry (In Arabic) directed by Adel Hassan and another titled Berket El-Dafade3 (Frog Pond) by Nada Habib, as well as performances by the Darb Al-Ahmar Art School.
Madad is an independent grant-making organisation that, through the donations of individuals, banks, and companies, funds local arts and culture projects with a focus on projects for and within smaller cities and underprivileged areas.
Founded in 2013, the initiative has since funded 40 projects in theatre, visual arts, literature and cinema in various cities across Egypt.
