El-Warsha theatre troupe will perform on three consecutive Thursdays at ROOM during the month of Ramadan.
Their first performance took place on 25 June, and was titled Saffar Ya Waboor (Blow Your Whistle, Train).
On 2 July the performance will be titled Makhalee Keteer (Many Creatures) and the troupe will perform songs and stories about Egyptian society, with an undertone of satire.
On 9 July Warsha is set to perform Eh Rayak Fi Khafafty (What Do You Think of My Slipper).
Layaly El-Warsha (El-Warsha Nights) has been an ongoing project since 1992, reflecting the troupe’s interest in Egypt’s culture and heritage as well as everyday life, which it looks to for inspiration for its stories, sketches, songs and dances.
ROOM Art Space is a multipurpose studio and café, offering artists a place for performing, collaborating and meeting.
