Choreographed by Sherin Hegazy and Haytham Hassen, Attempt deals with fighting society’s currents in an attempt to escape herd.
The contemporary dance, performed by Hegazy and Hassen, explores how freedom has a price, but is also difficult to ever attain, and one is left with trials.
Hegazy, previously a student of the Cairo Contemporary Dance workshop, is a choreographer, dancer and actress on stage and screen.
She previously performed in various dance festivals, including The Picardy Contemporary Art Festival in France, Egypt’s To Be Continued Festival, and the Damascus Festival for Theatre.
Hegazy acted on stage in six plays, including Spring Awakening directed by Laila Soliman and El Moled by Tamer Fathy. In 2010 she appeared as actor and dancer in two films: Champagne, by Ziad Soudy, and Forgotten Mountain by Hala El-Koussy.
She also gives workshops for children in Theatre and Dance and Body Language.
Hassen is a choreographer, dancer, actor and director, who was previously working with Ezzat Ezzat Contemporary Dance Studio.
