Bibliotheca Alexandrina's Arts Centre has announced that it will soon launch online ticketing for its events, according to its Facebook page.

The service should arrive before the opening of the 14th edition of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina International Summer Festival, scheduled to kick off on 29 July and run until 8 September.

Apart from the festival, the Arts Centre offers many cultural activities throughout the year, many accessible via tickets.

Online ticketing is expected to be popular with local audiences, as well as visitors from Cairo and other parts of the country who are interested in the Bibliotheca's events.

Most cultural institutions in Egypt do not have their own independent online ticketing services, and most tickets are sold in person at ticketing booths.

Several cultural institutions and events organisers also rely on the support of external ticketing platforms, such as Ticketsmarche, Tazkarty, and e7gezly.
