The Coalition for Independent Culture has announced it is to stage sit-ins at Tahrir Square and the Egyptian Parliament building in support of the protests that started 19 November following the "One Demand Friday."

Representatives of the coalition have invited all of its members as well as the public to join in the protests. The coalition has been using Facebook and Twitter to call for a public sit-in until all the demands of those who took to Tahrir are met by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces.

the El Fann Midan collective has joined the Coalition for Independent Culture in their cause, encouraging all musicians, poets and artists to join in the sit-in and promises to organise cultural events by a number of revolutionary Egyptian artists in Tahrir Square and outside Parliament each night until end of this week.
