Shaker Abdel Hamid, nominee for culture minister, says he hopes to continue work of predecessor Abou Ghazi and take culture to all sectors of society

New Prime Minister Kamal El-Ganzouri’s nomination for the post of the culture minister, Shaker Abdel-Hamid, has said he will develop the cultural sector to fit Egypt’s post-revolutionary mood during his four months in the job.

He stated he would continue the work of the previous minister Emad Abou Ghazi to ensure culture reached the street and all sectors of society.

“We will concentrate on transmitting our message to the youth via the ministry, the Supreme Council of Culture, and the different cultural palaces spread throughout Egypt,” he said.
