Happy Journey

Following its many performances in Cairo, the theatre play titled Happy Journey (Rehla Saeeda) began its staging outside the capital in the northern city of Tanta.

The play is performed daily, between 12 and 16 December on the Tanta Cultural Centre stage.

According to the Ministry of Culture's plan, Happy Journey will embark on a wider tour across a number of Egyptian cities, in 2020.

Written by Mohamed El-Sawaf and directed by Sameh Bassiouni, the play portrays a group of people on a bus heading to the Sinai Peninsula's resort of Sharm El-Sheikh. Set in a comic framework, the play brings together people from different Egyptian communities who exchange their thoughts and deal with a crisis.

The cast of the play includes Ehab Gaber, Radwa Hassan, Mohannad Mokhtar, Yasser Megahed, and Abdel-Rahman Eid.

Scenography and costumes are designed by Waleed Gaber, music by Mohamed Shehata and light design by Ibrahim El-Farn.
